Youth & Teen Acting Classes FAQ

Does my child need previous acting experience?
No. Both programs welcome beginners as well as young actors with prior experience. The classes are structured so students can build skills from their current level while working in a supportive group environment.
Does my child stop after one six-week rotation?
No. These programs are designed as ongoing year-round training. Families enroll one six-week rotation at a time, and students can continue into the next rotation to keep building skills, confidence, friendships, and experience.
How do the ongoing six-week rotations work?
Each rotation runs for six weeks. Families commit to one rotation at a time rather than an entire year. The curriculum continues from session to session, allowing students to keep training while giving families flexibility around school, sports, travel, and other commitments.
Does my child need to want a professional acting career?
No. Some students are interested in professional opportunities, while others participate because they want stronger confidence, communication skills, creativity, or a place to connect with other young people. Both are welcome.
What happens if my child misses a class?
Consistent attendance helps students get the most from each rotation, but an occasional absence does not mean your child cannot continue. Let the studio know when your child will miss a class so the instructor can help them rejoin the work when they return.
Is there a final performance?
Youth students finish each rotation with a low-pressure family showcase. Teen students build their experience primarily through recorded on-camera scenes and self-tape work that allows them to review and track their progress.
Who teaches the Youth and Teen programs?
Both programs are taught by television actress and acting coach Dorian Brown. Students receive direct instruction rather than being passed to assistants or inexperienced teachers.
